For over 30 years as owner and Broker, I have dedicated my career to caring for all clients at A-1 Agency Real Estate, a true community staple in Weston County. As a local business owner, I understand the unique needs of the people right here at home, whether they are seeking to buy or sell residential, commercial, or ranch properties. At the same time, I enjoy welcoming new people to our community by helping them find homes or property that fit their needs and dreams.

I live the agriculture and community life.  Being raised on land that has been in my family for over 135 years, leaving for college and returning to keep my roots right here in Weston County.   Married with two wonderful children and lucky enough to have one I work with everyday here in the insurance department, while the other will graduate high school in a couple years.  I have helped or been in charge of local events, fund raisers, committees, and more.  I am grateful for having lived in the northeast corner of this great state. I will forever call Wyoming home.

 A lifelong Wyoming resident, I have spent decades building a reputation for my dedication as a real estate professional. Raised on my grandfather’s ranch and attending a country school, I developed a strong sense of community, hard work, and a deep connection to the land. After graduating from Newcastle High School in 1969, I pursued pre-veterinary studies at Sheridan College before working at a feedlot in Provo, South Dakota.

I soon decided I wanted to return home and ranch. My family and I started a ranch supply/feed store and I earned my real estate license at that time. In 1983, I fulfilled my lifelong dream of owning a ranch. I began running both registered and commercial angus cattle. Even selling ranch-raised beef. In 2002, I decided to downsize my operations and simultaneously began my real estate career again.

 I joined Shawnda at A-1 Agency Real Estate in 2008, where I gained a reputation for being a dedicated, reliable, and highly knowledgeable agent. I have sold everything from ranches, to homes, and commercial properties over the years. I provide clients with exceptional service, rooted in years of personal experience and a strong understanding of Wyoming’s unique real estate market. I am known for my integrity, honesty, and tireless work ethic. I ensure that every client, whether buying, selling, or investing, feels informed and supported throughout every step of the process.

 My commitment goes beyond just closing deals; I am invested in my clients’ success and satisfaction, always striving to exceed expectations and build lasting relationships. I have become a trusted advisor who combines market knowledge with a genuine passion for helping others achieve their real estate goals.

 Outside of real estate, I continue to enjoy ranching and remain active in the community. My  long-standing ties to the land, coupled with a deep commitment to serving others, makes me not just a real estate agent but a trusted partner and advisor in every transaction.

With years of experience in both residential and commercial real estate, I bring a unique blend of market knowledge, professionalism, and personal dedication to every client I serve. My real estate journey after my military service began in Colorado, working in residential and REO properties, before a career in finance sharpened my business skills. After moving to Wyoming in 2013, I returned to my passion for real estate—first as an assistant, and soon as a licensed agent with A-1 Agency Real Estate—helping clients navigate transactions with confidence and ease.

My approach is simple: educate, guide, and make every real estate experience as smooth as possible. Whether working with first-time homebuyers, seasoned investors, or long-time residents. I’m known for my deep knowledge of the area, personable nature, and commitment to being available when clients need me most.

Living and working in Newcastle, on the edge of Wyoming’s Black Hills, gives me an insider’s perspective on the community, its neighborhoods, and the lifestyle it offers. I love the friendly people, the beauty of all four seasons, and the unique character of the Black Hills. Outside of work, I’m involved in local cat rescue efforts, community fundraisers, and events that bring our town together. My husband works for the county, my three children all graduated from Newcastle High School, two working locally and one now abroad.  My parents recently moved in with us—making our ties to the community stronger than ever.

As a lifelong resident of Newcastle, Wyoming, I bring an in-depth understanding of the Northeast corner of Wyoming and a strong commitment to serving my community with integrity and dedication. After graduating from Newcastle High School, I attended Sheridan College, earning an Associate’s Degree before continuing my education at Black Hills State University. There, I completed a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management in 2021.

Following graduation, I returned to Newcastle, where I worked for two years at First Northern Bank of Wyoming as a customer service representative and teller. In January of 2024, I joined A-1 Agency Insurance after Shawnda acquired the agency, and I’ve been proud to serve as a licensed insurance agent since February 2024.

At the core of every insurance quote and policy I offer is the belief that people matter. I truly value the relationships I build with my clients and believe in offering personalized service that reflects this. Whether a customer is new to insurance or an experienced policyholder, I am dedicated to making sure they feel respected, heard, and well-informed throughout the process. My goal is to provide coverage solutions that meet each individual’s unique needs and budget while simplifying the often-complex world of insurance.

I take pride in being a local agent—available to answer questions, offer guidance, and provide the kind of personal service that fosters long-lasting relationships. Outside of my work in insurance, I remain closely connected to the agricultural community through my family’s cow/calf ranch. I am passionate about working with horses and dogs, hunting large game, and staying involved in various agricultural activities. I also serve as the Treasurer of the Weston County Jr. Livestock Committee, ensuring the success of the annual county fair sale, and volunteer my time coaching the local FFA Vet Science CDE team.

 When A-1 Agency Insurance became available for sale in 2023, and having been the owner and Broker of A-1 Agency Real Estate for over 30 years, it was a natural fit to continue the agencies long history of being under one roof.  Having assisted in the insurance business for 5 years, I purchased A-1 Agency Insurance and began operations January 2024.
